For this project, I got to work with Carlo. This project was for a Boutique hotel, this Boutique hotel doesn’t have a name yet. the first assignment I got for this project was that Fleur and I had to do research about Boutique hotels. We had to find out questions like ‘’What is a boutique hotel?’’ and ‘’What makes a boutique hotel?’’. Besides that, we had to make inspiration boards with inspirational pictures from boutique hotels and we had to do some research
about other successful boutique hotels.
From this research, I found out that what makes a Boutique hotel special is that every room has its own style and interior. So you can stay in a room, book another time in another room and you can feel like you are somewhere in a completely different hotel. This makes it interesting to discover more of
the hotel.
The second assignment I got was to find 18 pictures with a completely different color use and schemes from each other. I tried to find some extraordinary ones that I haven’t used before when it comes to interior design. I made a selection of 18 pictures and with those pictures, I went on and made 18 different moodboards. In those moodboards, I used interi-or pictures that used those specific color schemes. As you can see there are only 7 moodboards in here, that is because I made a selection for the report, but if you want to see all of them, they are all on my portfolio website which you can find a link to in my conclusion. From this project, I learned to work with different styles that aren’t always the ones I would choose for myself. But by trying different combinations I found out that sometimes you should think outside of your own
comfort zone.
